Money Money Money

I’ve lived as a missionary in Korea for over nine years. I started living here off of $1,500 a month and lived pretty poorly. God began to teach me a ton of lessons on money, changing my mindset, my prayers, and my spending habits. This past year I was able to raise over $100,000 for scholarships for orphans, another $10,000+ for my orphanage ministry, while God provided more than enough funds for my wife Sky and I to live comfortably here in Korea (also while supporting multiple missionaries and giving generously to different causes). And I know God wants me to steward so much more. $100,000+ might seem a lot for orphans, but the truth is millions and tens of millions and even more are needed to provide for them well. I’m believing with faith that as I continue to be faithful in stewarding what God has given me, while praying and asking for more, that God is going to increase our influence and enable us to serve and bless so many more. And I truly believe God doesn’t want this just for us, but for every Christian today.

I just re-watched a seminar on money that I taught a few months ago at my church in Korea. I feel like I need to watch it at least once a year to refresh myself on the promises of God and how I need to have the right view towards money. While this teaching was for the leaders of the church I attend (New Philadelphia Church, www.newphilly.cc), I wanted to share it with you all because I feel this is a teaching for the greater body of Christ. May you be blessed and strengthened regarding finances!

Here is the PDF of the handout for the seminar: https://www.comequicklyministries.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Seminar-Money-Matters-STUDENT1.pdf.

This seminar was taught at my church in Seoul, South Korea. Now and then I quote in Korean currency (won), which is $1 to about 1,000won, so $1,000 is about 1 million Korean won.
